The Gaming Giant Recruits Apex Legends Lead to Boost Challenged Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

The renowned publisher has secured a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.

Management Transition Comes After Poor Reception

Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing initial reveal last autumn.

Recently, the company's top executive a key figure updated staff about this organizational change through an internal memo, which stressed that early feedback sessions had indicated the need for a clearer vision.

The president stated that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a refreshed vision, aiming to better meet gamer demands.

A Pattern of Strategic Hires

The news echoes a comparable move taken by 2K Games in August, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise development group.

Dear Team—

I understand you all just wrapped up your town hall - I hope you’re as excited as I am with the positive developments. Previously I sent you all a message, I mentioned the following: “I am confident in this crew. You all are some of the most driven and innovative designers we have had the pleasure to collaborate with - and we’re eager for that relationship to endure.”

Given your hard work and adaptability, particularly over the last year, you consistently demonstrate that.

The gamer responses from last autumn’s the game playtest was informative. It validated the appeal of a action-packed game but made clear we still had improvements to make. It uncovered the requirement for a more distinct vision.

It has been motivating to see how far you’ve advanced. You took the input to mind and overhauled the title with a revitalized direction - one that’s positioned to achieve its ambition to our audience.

The trust in Project ETHOS grows every day. To advance the outstanding advancement you’ve made, I’m excited to announce Ben Brinkman as the new Studio Head of 31st Union. After several months of conversations, he officially joins us on the specified date.

His leadership and background in the competitive gaming space is vast, having devoted the recent years producing and overseeing some of the most popular series in gaming, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and lately, Apex Legends.

Please join me in receiving Ben soon. We are all looking forward to keep seeing the evolution of Project ETHOS in the weeks to come.
